Outside the City Palace, Udaipur

He might not be in the audio guide or any book, but this is a photo of the gorgeous horse who is called 'Whitey' (no surprise there, eh!) and lives contentedly at the City Palace Stables. He loves being petted on the neck and take some lumps of sugar for him whenever you are in Udaipur! :-)

Bright eyed in Udaipur...

Are you sure we are in Rajasthan? This desert state has the most beautiful and fresh weather! The breeze blows cool and everywhere we look there is a sense of calm and peace. Trekking into the City Palace now...check out the lovely cages for carrier pigeons that were used back in the days! Methods of communication have sure changed!

Saying hello to Rajasthan!

Flying into Udaipur via Mumbai the stark differences in the Indian landscape have never been more apparent.
While the South is lush and velvety green, Rajasthan stands majestic in its stark beauty. We drove straight from the modern Udaipur airport to the lovely Devigarh Fort Palace. Here is the first view of this magnificent property!

Crusing Through Kumarkaoum

The Spice Coast Cruise is the best way to spend an afternoon meandering through the backwaters of Kumarkaoum. Fresh seafood, attentive crew, steaming cups of coffee (or chilled beer, if you prefer) the pitter-patter of rain-drops adds to the experience of this lovely cruise. The houseboats are in top-notch condition with books on-board, clean and modern bathrooms and a lounge one can sink into. Ah! Bliss!!

Kerela Calls!

Landing in an unknown city airport in the dead of the night can be unnerving no matter what country you are travelling to! But when one is greeted with this sight – you know you are in safe hands!  The warm welcome and reassuring service we received at Kochi Airport from the BTS team set the tone for the rest of the days. We were on a ten-day trip to Kerela and Rajasthan and looking forward to an adventure every single day!
